This private onsen spa is a perfect pampering treat for couples who are looking to unwind and enjoy quality time together. Onsen has always been one of my favourite activities in my Japan itinerary. However, I’ve never really tried private onsens (apart from those inside the hotel rooms and they’re usually not very aesthetic).
This spa has over 1k+ raving reviews on Google and also recommended by users on XHS and TikTok. After the visit, I can totally relate as my experience was also highly positive. Here’s my detailed review of the full spa experience.
Each spa package (2 hr 30 min) includes the following:
- Kimono rental + Photoshoot
- 15 min Footbath
- 45 min Onsen
- 1 hour Full Body Massage

Our Entire Experience
Before the start of the whole package, we had to fill up a personal form that includes our particulars and things like our preferred pressure for massage.
Kimono Photoshoot
There wasn’t a fixed timing for this, but it was a rather simple one – picking out the kimono and hair accessories (for female). There are not a lot of choices but given that this is not an actual costume rental shop, I think the variety was decent for me. I actually had a few designs for consideration, and my final choice was the pastel pink crane design.
Some standard props are also included – paper fans and umbrella. Do note that it’s just a simple photoshoot so they will just use your phones/ cameras to help you take or you can just do it yourself (if you prefer).
I would recommend that you come prepared with makeup and hairdo (if you want), as they do not provide the service. I personally think that this is a really cute add-on and it’s also what caught my attention in the first place.
Footbath (15 min)
The footbath came with a biscuit and tea so you can relax while having your feet soaked. It’s a nice touch but it doesn’t really feel very substantial, at least for me.
Onsen (45 min)
This is definitely the main and most worthy part of the spa package, and I would highly recommend you to try this with your partner. The experience is completely private, and I love how it came with desserts, fruits and tea. It was like a “rich tai-tai” moment, where you can dine and relax at the same time.
The onsen comes with small bath corner at the side, so you can also shower before and after the session.
*There are disposable undergarments for you to wear during the session, so it’s also possible to enjoy this with your family/ friends if you’re comfortable
Full Body Massage (1 hour)
After the onsen, you have to shower and get changed into a new set of disposable underwear before the full massage begins. I’m not someone who frequents massage parlours often to give a fair comparison of what’s good or bad. But I think the massage was comfortable enough such that I almost fell asleep a few times.
Overall, it was a really nice and pampering treat, and we enjoyed this experience as a Valentine’s Day celebration so it was extra special.
Also special mention to their amazing service and cleanliness of the spa.
After the spa ended, they tried to sell us some package but thankfully, they were not pushy about it at all (we did say that we’re not locals though)
