Feeding animals is always on the top of my bucket list, especially when I travel to other countries. Hay Dairies has been on our bucket list for the longest time but we always delayed the trip due to rain or other reasons, sometimes being a little too lazy to travel that far. It is about 40 min ride/ drive away from where we are.
There are other farms around the same area so it is best to go for the rest of the attractions to maximise your travelling time – Qian Hu Fish Farm, Jurong Frog Farm (Open on weekends only) as well as Sungei Buloh Nature Reserve.
I highly recommend to buy the Alfafa Hay pack for $5 to feed the goats otherwise there is nothing much to do at the farm. There is a milking session until 10:30am but it was too early for us so we missed that activity.
The Alfafa Hay portion is quite generous for the price and I find it pretty affordable. The bag of hay actually lasted quite long if you don’t feed too much at one go. We walked down the aisle and there are many goats from left to right. Most of the baby and young goats are on the left side.
Some goats were super adorable, while there are others who were so naughty, a few kept chewing on my top, hair and even bag.
One of the goats actually escaped from the fencing to get more food and was caught by the staff. Poor goat got dragged back into his fence and many goats started to hump it.
We bought 1 goat milk to try for $2.50 but we both didn’t like the taste. I never actually enjoyed goat milk anyway. Overall it was a really fun experience as I personally enjoy feeding animals. However, given the time taken to travel to this farm, the next visit will probably not be so soon.
