In my 30s, I still struggle with adult acne. The most daunting part of my acne journey was experiencing a severe breakout in early 2024—likely triggered by medication that paused my period during a holiday trip. I had never dealt with acne that intense before, which made it especially worrying. My Cozy Room Facial Spa helped to resolve the main bulk of my issue but I had to also look for a solution for my scarring. That’s when I chanced upon Become Aesthetics from a friend of mine, and decided to give it a try after reading the fantastic reviews on Google. I am usually very particular about trying any new skincare treatment as my face is really sensitive, so the reviews matter a lot to me.
After my facial session with My Cozy Room, there was already a huge improvement in my skin, but it still wasn’t enough. Hence I decided to go for laser.
What did I get?
I initially bought a package of Yellow Laser x 15 ($4500) and Acne Laser x 10 ($1200) together with the first trial sessions that amount to $6k. From just 1 session alone, my acne was already visibly flattened and way more controlled. After 3-5 sessions, my pores were also a lot smaller with smoother skin and more glow. In fact, I didn’t even have to rely on concealer or BB cream anymore, instead I use tinted sunscreen from My Cozy Room Facial Spa on a daily basis. It doesn’t provide the best coverage, but at least I feel confident about it.
The process
My pain threshold for laser treatments is very low, so I may not be the best person to compare to. Generally, extraction treatments are pretty alright to me. But for some reason, I am quite afraid of lasers because of the burning sensation. For my treatments, I always have a special request to apply numbing cream for 30 minutes (because 15 min will cause too much pain for me). Every single staff was very surprised because most of them don’t even use numbing cream for yellow laser, but they’re really sweet about it.
I have tried Fractional c02 Laser before and this was a lot more painful (felt like my skin was burning). Comparatively, the yellow and acne laser were A LOT more bearable. I also like that the downtime was a lot shorter – my face was only slightly red for a few hours (they differ from session to session as my skin is a little more sensitive at times). On the other hand, Fractional Laser has a much longer down time for about 4 days to a week, with ugly grid lines that stay for days.
Final results
My first treatment with Become Aesthetics was in May 2024, and it has been about 10 months since. Here’s a comparison of the before and after.

So far, I have only utilised about 2 sessions of Acne Lasers, and 8 sessions of Yellow Laser. The Yellow Laser is suitable for reducing red facial veins and healing acne conditions, also known as the “Glass laser” as it provides you with the glowing glass-like skin. Acne Laser, as the name speaks for itself, treats acne conditions like inflammation, promote skin recovery and reduce scarring (but if you have pitted acne scars, fractional scar will still be more effective).
I believe the photos speak for themselves—my acne breakouts have been much more manageable, with only occasional pimples and clogged pores around my jaw. While they can be a bit bothersome, they’re nothing too serious. Since my skin have stabilised now, I have just signed up for another package with Become Aesthetics – Pico Laser. The package costs 10 sessions for $1500 (inclusive of 3 yellow laser treatments + 4 ampoules)
The doctor told me that Pico Laser can resolve the pigmentation caused by scarring and increase collagen production as well. Hopefully there will be even more improvement from there on!
