Halloween Party with Props & Costumes from Daiso Singapore

I haven’t been celebrating Halloween for a few years due to the pandemic, and Daiso gave me an idea of a party after sending me a box of Halloween props, costumes and tableware. My business Monice Bakes started out with icing cookies, so I was like: Why not bake some halloween cookies and have a DIY Decorating session while celebrating this spooky event.

The range of Halloween decoration is pretty impressive, here’s a simple setup that I made without even using all the props that were given. Whether you’re sourcing for props for photoshoots or decorating the house for a party, you probably can find something suitable at Daiso. Not forgetting it comes with such an affordable price of $2 + GST.

I baked some Halloween shortbread cookies using the cookie cutters with these shapes – Pumpkin, Ghost, Cat and Bat. I then prepared some royal icing in different colours for the decorating part, which is also the most exciting part of the session!

Daiso also offers other partyware like Halloween-themed paper cups, plastic plates, napkins and even plastic wrappers that can be used as goodie bags.

Well, I ended up the only one doing the classic halloween design in the end, and the rest were all decorated with Pokemon theme. Quite creative to turn the bat and cat designs into Mew & Golbat. A pity that I didn’t have the correct colours.

My brother was also giving Kuro a spooktacular doggy photoshoot with the props and here’s one ‘behind-the-scenes’ shot. We were trying to do a Jack-in-the-box scene.

The Halloween masks are pretty hilarious and also a fun add on to photoshoots if you are doing any. I used it to trick Kuro and he barked at me. (No dogs were harmed, don’t worry)

I also attended the Halloween event at Museum of Ice Cream last week and it was perfect to put the Halloween accessories to good use. I decided to dress up as a devil girl for the event with the red horn and devil tail! Love how the photos turned out.
