Kacha Kacha Photoshoot Studio with DIY keychains starting from $6

Selfie photoshoot studios can be rather overpriced in Singapore, so we knew that we had to experience this during our JB trip. Kacha Kacha Studio is one of the more popular and tiktok-viral selfie studio in JB, known for its affordable prices and additional DIY keychain add-on (which is obviously the reason why I’m choosing this place).

There are 2 packages for self photoshoot which includes free usage of props.

Express package (RM20)
– 4 min photo-taking
– 2 min photo selection
– 2 photo strips
– Unlimited shots
– Up to 5 pax
– All softcopy (+RM15)
– No booking, only walk-in

Standard package (RM90)
– 20 min photo-taking
– 10 min photo selection
– 4 4R prints
– Softcopy of prints
– Unlimited shots
– Up to 5 pax
– All softcopy (+RM30)
– Booking is encouraged, walk-in subject to availability

We chose the express package as we felt that SGD 27 was too much for a simple photoshoot and we only wanted a basic session. 4 minutes felt more than enough as it might be tiring/ awkward to think of poses after the first 5 minutes. But the standard package might be more suitable for bigger groups as it’s usually less efficient with more people.

There were a lot of props for us to choose from, including hairbands, hats, costumes, accessories, glasses/shades, to really random props like flower basket, handcuffs and more. You will get a trolley to pick out as many props as you want before heading into the studio room.

While the choices are unlimited, I recommend that you choose only what you really need especially if you only have 4 minutes as you will have to change the props really efficiently to make use of the limited time. As the photo strip had 4 frames, we decided on about 4 different themes and kept it simple.

Once you enter the room, the staff will pass you a remote to take the selfie, and they will also start the timer so that you know how much time you have.

After the photo-taking, we had to choose our photos at the computer outside the room. As we visited during non-peak hours, there were not much people around and the staff was quite lenient about the time we took for photo selection.

I chose to add on a DIY keychain for just RM25 and it includes 2 different photos (1 on each side). We were also given unlimited time to pick out the charms and fix the keychain. This is honestly a steal as it’s usually way more expensive to DIY a keychain in Singapore. There were so many charms to choose from, and I was honestly spoilt for choice. Given the huge variety of charms + stickers, the price was really worth it.

Overall, we only spent RM 45 (< SGD 14) in total for 2 pax, but we spent almost an hour here and it was such a fun and memorable date for us.
