It has been several months since my last facial (Don’t learn that from me though) and unfortunately, my skin was back to its terrible state of unstoppable acne and breakouts for the past two months. Maskne has become the norm for me and my skin has became really dull from wearing too much masks and makeup. It was tough to endure but I only made time to go for a facial fix recently.
Facials used to be quite basic for me, but it’s really a luxe spa-like experience at My Cozy Room. It’s really nice to just indulge in a soothing and relaxing facial that comes with quick and long-lasting results. Due to my skin issues, I always opt for acne facials as they are generally more effective against my Maskne concerns. For this facial session, I was recommended the:

The facial started off with their usual double cleanse which is essential to remove all impurities and oil from my skin. In case you don’t know yet, double cleanse is really important – the first Hy-ol Cleanser removes excess makeup, oil and impurities while the second Phytoactive Cleanser soothes my oily skin and controls sebum production.
Next I was given the Oxygen Whipping Mask which has gentle exfoliating and soothing effect on the skin. This step actually helps to deeply cleanse the pores while maintaining optimal hydration. The dead skin cells are also softened and removed for easier extraction later on.
Facial extraction may seem scary for some, but at My Cozy Room, their extractions are always quite bearable for my pain tolerance. There were only a few parts where the skin area is a little sensitive and the pain was slightly higher. Otherwise, it was pretty comfortable throughout the session, and I was actually dozing off a little as well. In fact, they are known for the ‘Best Extraction Facial’ in Singapore too!
After the extraction, the therapist applied High Frequency machine on my face to sterilise the “open wounds” and soothe inflammation by killing acne-causing bacteria.
It can’t be called an oxygen treatment without the oxygen element. I was later given the O2 Machine Spray Infusion which uses a jet spray to infuse oxygen ampoule solutions directly into my skin. Oxygen not only helps to improve blood circulation but nourishes tired skin. The cooling sensation was quite comfortable too.
The main highlight of this treatment involves the usage of the O2 Machine Dome which is hyperbaric chamber that provides your skin with up to 92% purified oxygen and anion “vitamins from the air”. The machine induces and stabilises free radicals which has antibacterial anti-aging effects on the skin while rebalancing pH levels at the same time.
It had quite a soothing effect on my face and I was happy to know that my skin was receiving ample oxygen!
There is also an optional choice to top up ampoules – mine was the BeKind Microsilver Elixir, targetted for Maskne/ Acne problems. Microsilver is a powerful multifunctional ingredient in strengthening skin barriers with anti-inflammatory properties, which in turn helps to prevent and control breakouts.
The final step involves an Alginate Mask formulated with natural ingredients to complete the facial. This cooling mask not only reduces any redness caused by extraction earlier on, but also refines pores and reduces scarring.
Within 24 hours, the redness on my face has subsided completely and by day 2, my skin was already glowing with radiance! If you have dull and acne-prone skin, this 2-in-1 facial is highly recommended.
Post-Treatment Regime
Facial treatments work magic to eradicate pesky acne and clogged pores, but for the effect to be longer-lasting, effective skincare products are necessary.
