This camping-themed restaurant – Nomads is pure genius! We all know how tricky it can be to take your pets camping for all sorts of reasons. But this new spot at Seletar lets you enjoy the camping vibe hassle-free – and it’s super instagrammable too!
First off, we were super impressed by the quality of the tents and camping gear—everything from the chairs and tables to the lanterns, and they even provide you with portable fans if needed! The tent looks really sturdy, not like those flimsy, cheap ones.
They really have an attention or details as our food and drinks were served in mess tins which suited the theme so perfectly. It almost felt like we were actually camping for real. Now let’s talk about the food.
I was very impressed with the variety of food and drinks – they had about 12 coffee selections alone, and they serve smoothie and cocktails so the choices are endless. No joke – I really spent some time thinking about what to eat because there were so many to choose from.
Overall, the food was decent and above average, but there were two dishes that stood out for me. Truffle fries and Ice cream with caramelised banana. I am never a fries person (mainly due to dietary habits) but sadly I could’t help myself as it was too addictive. The dessert was absolutely delicious, banana cake could be tad bit more moist but the overall pairing with the caramelised banana and good quality vanilla ice-cream was just pure perfection to end off our meal.
I was initially worried about mosquito situations, but they do provide the mosquito coil. I would recommend wearing long sleeve and pants just in case, and to visit during the earlier evening hours. I didn’t actually have a single mozzie bite until about 8pm onwards.
For those who do not enjoy camping or dislike sitting outdoors, there are plenty of indoor seats, the only downside is that you are not allowed to bring your pets in.
With or without pets, I think it’s also a really cute date idea!
