Review | The Vegan Sg Protein Powder – 16 different flavours?!

Never be too confident about what you dislike and start being more open minded because I’ve done a lot of things against my own words ever since my fitness journey started:

I was so lazy to workout for a couple of years, but I became so active now, so much that I always feel so uneasy when I have to skip my workout routine.

I told myself I would never join fitness classes but I started boxing with Legends in 2023.

I then told myself I would never travel out for gym sessions (esp if it’s far) since I can go down to the condo gym for free, but I joined Virgin Active anyway.

I told myself I wouldn’t want to take protein powder because I hated the taste and I didn’t see the need, but I’m counting my protein intake (almost) every single day now.

I think one of my concerns about protein powder is due to my acne-prone skin. By right, I should be already cutting milk from my diet, but oh wells. I’m glad that I found The Vegan, a vegan protein powder brand, which means that it won’t trigger acne outbreaks!

First impression:

I’m such a sucker for nice packaging products, and let’s just say that the typical protein powder containers do not appeal to me at all. In contrast, I really love the packaging for The Vegan, and I absolutely love that they have individual sachets which is so convenient for bringing out.

Taste:

I have tried some protein powders that gives an off-putting after taste, but I felt like this was very acceptable. I can’t say that I’d love this over my usual full cream milk but given that this has such a good protein level, I am satisfied. Their flavour choices are impressive, with interesting flavours like Tie Guan Yin, Yuan yang, and Sesame. There’s a total of 16 different flavours.

But my current favourites are Oatmilk, Soy and Matcha. The oatmilk is such a good combination with my breakfast oat smoothies. And the matcha reminds me of Japan matcha mochi. (It was the immediate first thought when I drank my first sip)

Suggestion for recipes:

  1. Just mix with water – the most basic recipe (use a shaker cup or blender)
  2. Combine with milk and your favourite fruits, blend it to make a protein smoothie
  3. Blend with frozen fruits, oats, and a little water to make a oat smoothie

Price:

Single sachet: $2.99 on promo
1 kg: $48.99 on promo
30 packets: $68.99 on promo

Tbh I’ve not compared the prices in the market, but I thought this is pretty comfortable for my budget. And if you’re not planning to take the powder every single day, you can just get them in individual packets for freshness.
