OMG… bird’s nest in bubble tea?!
That was my reaction to a friend when I walked past Bliss Nest Capsules at Vivocity. I was actually looking for bbt after dinner but I didn’t really want to spend on the usual unhealthy bbt as I was watching my diet recently. Just when I was searching around, I chanced upon this small cafe that I haven’t heard of before, and was so surprised to see that they actually offer bird’s nest in all their bbt!
Disclaimer: This was taken during a paid shoot with them for my other business, but I’ve personally paid and tried their drinks on a separate occasion, and genuinely enjoyed them!
They had a 1 for 1 promo previously – buy 2 selected drinks at the price of 1, and it contains 10g of bird’s nest. I really enjoyed their soursop drink and I opted for 0% sugar so it was really healthy and refreshing, with a hint of sourness from the fruit.
You can also watch them scoop and weigh 10g of bird’s nest into your drink, and I guess you can enjoy your drink with lesser guilt (provided you are going for low sugar options). The taste of the drinks are pretty decent and they have consistent 5 stars reviews on Google, which is.. pretty damn impressive… Some might find that their drinks are slightly on the pricier side but if you think about it, a lot of premium bubble teas cost like $6-7+ nowadays, so adding just $2-3 more for bird’s nest is pretty alright.
They’re currently having another ongoing promo, buy 1 bottle of bird’s nest and receive a free drink of your choice!
My favourite flavour was the Mango milk jelly which was packed with fresh mango fruits and jelly which has a pudding-like texture. If you’re craving for a sweet smoothie-like drink, this would be perfect, and I would suggest not adding additional toppings for this. However, this drink could be quite filling so if you’re looking for something more refreshing, the Pink lemon oolong tea would be a recommended choice for Singapore’s recent crazy weather. Instead of using the usual yellow lemons, they use the green lemon which has a better aroma. (It also reminds me of the 手打柠檬茶 in China)
But what surprised me the most was the Passion fruit sparkling americano. As someone who hates drinking americano and prefer the basic latte at cafes, this was quite unique and surprisingly quite nice! It was like drinking a coffee kombucha.
