I’m no cat lover, I usually prefer dogs. But I planned this cat cafe into our Tokyo itinerary as my brother likes cats a lot. So here we are, at Cat Cafe MOCHA Harajuku for just 30 minutes because the admission prices are so expensive!
I’ve been to a few cat cafes before in different places, and I’ve almost never felt impressed by the ambience. It’s almost always like any other animal cafes. But this cafe was so vibey, they had really nice sofas and tables, and looked like the perfect place for doing work (except that it’s not pocket-friendly at all). Actually that wasn’t even the best part.
There were unlimited drinks from the vending machines and tea bags section. And before you go, how interesting can vending machines be? They have the kind of coffee that is not available in normal vending machines, and even corn soup! Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo as the time in this cafe was too limited. Even the tea bags were super unique.
But on the downside, the cats were really quite unfriendly. I thought that most cats have such personality, but my brother told me that he went to another cat cafe and those cats were way more cuddly and friendly.
This cafe feels more suited for cat lovers who wants to read a book or do their work in a nice cosy environment filled with cats roaming around. But I personally feel that it’s not really for tourists as it’s quite different from the usual animal/ pet cafes with a rather high admission price too.
