Review | Chow Q Cafe at JB

Derived from the phrase “超 cute”, which translates to super cute in Chinese, this friendly dog-petting cafe is called Chow Q Cafe, which is located about 20 minutes away from from JB checkpoint. At this cafe, you can find mainly Chow Chow, Shiba Inu and Giant Poodles and some other breeds. Good news as there is no entrance fee unlike many other dog cafes! You simply have to order a minimum of 1 drink per person to enter. Do take note that you are required to wear socks before entering.

Chow Q Cafe serves mainly bubble tea drinks starting from RM9.9, as well as finger food. We tried the Signature Chow Q Bubble Tea and Sour Plum. The milk tea was pretty decent and fragrant, not the best out there though. But the pearls were undercooked which resulted in a tough texture instead of the usual addictive chewiness. I usually don’t expect much from dog cafes like these so the quality didn’t really bother me as much. The Sour Plum was quite legit, but I’m not a fan of the drink.

The dogs were generally quite friendly and calm, while most of the chows chows were just lazing around and sleeping. The giant poodle even jumped onto the bench and I took the opportunity to quickly snap some nice photos.

If you’re looking for puppies, they are selling some next door. We played with the Chowdoodle which is a mixed breed of Chow Chow and Poodle, they’re so squishy and adorable! The staff were extremely friendly and they even assisted us with taking photos or getting the dog to sit for a better picture.

I highly recommend you to visit this dog cafe if you are traveling to JB!
