Experience the snow you’ll never get in Singapore’s weather. This indoor winter wonderland – Ice Magic, opened its doors to the public with tickets starting from $25 where you can enjoy playing with snow, gliding down ice slides and many more.
I wasn’t expecting much when I first heard of this event, and thought that it was made of fake snow. Turns out the snow was REAL cold and made from Beijing Winter Olympic snow machines. The event space was -15 deg c cold and I actually wore 3 pair of socks (which was still insufficient).
Snow boots and jackets are included in the ticket price, and there are other winter accessories for rent and sale too. It is recommended for you to prepare your own winter gear as the queue might be quite long.
The most exciting activities were the 4.5m high figure 8 ice slide and 70m snow slope where you can sleigh down with a donut tube. The only downside is that you have to drag a tube across the entire event space to queue for your turn, but it was definitely worth it!
You can choose between single or double ride, personally I prefer the double as it bumps even more for extra adrenaline.
There are also intricate ice sculptures crafted by master ice sculptors from Harbin, China. If you’re feeling cold, take a break inside the ice igloo as it’s slightly warmer inside.
I took picture with a polar bear mascot because I was a polar bear too!
The snow was really soft and nice to walk in, legit like real snow. Have fun snowball fights, make snow angels or take boomerang videos while throwing snow in the air.
Other fun snow activities include ice cycling, ice curling and bowling. Ice cycling was quite fun if you’re the one sitting on the sleigh and getting pulled around.
Stop by to get yourself an icy cold beer if you’re not afraid of the cold. Once you open the can, the beer turns into slushie ice and is quite shiok even though I don’t fancy alcohol much in general.
I also took some breaks in between and warmed myself with a hot chocolate from Chocolate Origin pop up cafe.
It was a really fun experience overall. But if you’re heading there on weekends, the waiting time might be quite long.
