Review | Unbirthday Cafe | Themed Cafe in Bangkok

Treat everyday like your birthday at this Unbirthday Cafe at Bangkok. I love how the cafe theme changes seasonally, and I might actually check out the cafe again if I travel to BKK again soon. When I visited this place in July, it was in Alice in Wonderland theme but as of now, the theme has already changed to something else.

The cafe is quite hidden and located on the 2nd level of the apartment. But once you turn to the corner, you’ll be greeted with vibrant colours from the decor. For the Alice in wonderland theme, the cafe is furnished with whimsical matching props like the playing cards, mushrooms, pocket watch, key and rose garden arch.

Once I entered, the place was filled with gigantic paper art roses and mushroom decor. Part of the ceiling had a glass panel to allow natural light to shine in, making it a great place for taking photos with good lighting.

One thing about traveling to Bangkok is that we’re always eating non-stop. So for most of our cafe-hopping trips, we only have stomach for a drink or two. I splurged it on a specialty drink – Chocolate Mousse with Matcha Latte (175 baht) which is considered slightly hefty in Thailand. The drink really suited the Alice in Wonderland theme as it was designed in a mushroom theme. The top layer was made of Matcha latte while the bottom layer is made of chocolate mousse.

The flavours were very prominent and complemented each other really well. Only issue I had was that it was slightly too gelat after a few mouthfuls, and I would have preferred it with a thinner texture.

There is a wide selection of cakes and pastries to choose from and I’ve seen some good reviews of the cakes online too.
