Review | Void Cafe x Etch & Bolts | Work-friendly cafe at Dhoby Ghaut

Are you in search for another work-friendly cafe in town? Void Cafe is a multi-concept space where you can enjoy cafe food with your friends, play board games or shop for customised furniture from Etch & Bolts. The cafe offers ample space, along with an extension cord providing an abundance of plugs, and complimentary Wi-Fi, making it an ideal environment for studying or working. You can definitely work in peace as they have several tables available on a weekday afternoon which means you don’t have to worry getting “kicked out” halfway!

Void Cafe’s specialty is their unique waffle options such as Churro Waffles, Rojak Waffles, Charcuterie Set and more. I love their wide variety of drink offerings too – ranging from espresso-based drinks to tea and even smoothies and fizzy soda series.

I chose their Meaty Skewer Waffles ($7.8) as it was very price-friendly compared to the rest. Can’t say much about the taste and texture of the waffles though as it did not have the crispy exterior that I was expecting.

Aside from waffles, you can also enjoy their sandwiches where you have the option to upgrade to bagel for an extra dollar. We tried the Chicken Ham Bagel ($9.8) – honestly nothing too fantastic. I found the bagel a little too crispy and hard but I was hoping to taste the chewy texture.

Hazelnut Ice Blend ($7.8) was a slight letdown. While the hazelnut taste was prominent, I didn’t quite enjoy the coffee taste.

Overall, this place is great if you are desperately looking for a cafe to sit down and study or do your work. On top of that, you can even enjoy the board games for free without any minimum order or charges.
