Review | Walking on Sunshine Cafe @ Orchard Central

Just like its name, stepping into this beautifully decorated cafe really felt like I was “walking on sunshine”. Adorned with dried flowers and plants as decor, with an instagrammable vintage white car to let you pose for pretty pictures (I especially love the pampas grass plant), this lovely 2-in-1 salon + dining cafe allows you to enjoy a pleasant meal after you are done with your haircut or treatment.

Walking on Sunshine is famous for their signature Kroffles buffet for only $14.90++ which offers crispy miniature kroffles in sweet and savoury options. However, that is only limited to 9am-12pm daily. They have pretty tantalising flavours like corn-cheese and honey mustard cream cheese, or if you have a sweet tooth, do give their mixed berries or chocolate a try.

We had the dessert option – Honey Butter Kroffles instead which came with a crazy heap of whipped cream that we did not finish. I wished they had ice-cream instead. The kroffles were light and airy, not too sweet as well, but I would prefer some extra flakiness that would resemble a croissant a little more.

The Toowomba Pasta was my absolute favourite (this was a new menu item), it reminded me of a Kombu pasta that I have tried before and it was so delicious. The pasta was coated in a luscious creamy sauce, with a hint of spice for an extra kick. The portion of prawns were pretty generous as well.

The Jeyuk Sotbab is a Korean spicy pork stir fry set with rice and seaweed, paired with Korean side dishes. The bold tantalising flavours with the fragrant and aromatic rice, paired with the crunch additions of the seaweed makes it a delightful dish overall.

I was really excited to try their drinks as they were either really pretty or had very interesting flavours combination. As a coffee lover myself, and having a liking towards tropical flavours, I instantly decided on the Coconut smoothie coffee while my friend had the Flower Ade which has a gorgeous ombre pink/ purple shade.

After trying coconut latte for the first time in my life during my cruise trip, I fell in love with the combination. I absolutely enjoyed this drink as it had the right amount of creaminess and sweetness from the coconut and it blended so well with the coffee.
