Once upon my time, my skin looked like that AFTER a facial, can’t believe I was still “complaining” (not at the spa). I’d just cover up with a mask and head home, but at some point I’m actually dying to get that skin back in my life.

My skin used to be decent (not the best, but it wasn’t thatttt bad) and I would turn up on a date with no concealer/foundation and still feel confident, but I guess life hits you in different ways sometimes.
So what happened?
My skin suddenly headed downhill from mid March to April 2024 after a hormonal breakout (period was terribly late and it messed up since Jan 2024 after I took pills to stop my period for water activities during a trip). As an active gym and boxing junkie, a baker and someone who has to attend media events regularly means I’m accumulating sweat and clogging my pores with makeup. My skin was also too dry and I tried putting more pimple cream on the acne spots which actually made it worse. Yes you do get breakouts with dry skin.
Not gonna lie, looking back at my photos kinda gives me anxiety…

You know the kinda situation where you’re so desperate you just start dumping different products onto your skin? That ‘powerful’ pimple cream that temporarily works, but then it gives you shitty problems after because now your skin barrier is so dry and damaged. I just kept tolerating this on and off skin situation for weeks (Because it would get a tad bit better after I rest my skin and then it will go on another roller coaster ride the week after). It was my last straw when my skin became SO sensitive after an event, so bad that it almost looked like an eczema or allergic reaction to something.
That’s when I went to My Cozy Room to fix my face (it was a desperate cry for help). I’m not new to their facial spa but you don’t truly realise that something is a real gem until you hit rock bottom and that saviour comes along.

I’ve also never been THIS diligent about skincare routine in my entire life until this phase hit me. And yes you can still possibly get terrible breakouts after your teenage years (unfortunately). This is why you shouldn’t neglect your skin at any age.
After the facial treatment at My Cozy Room, my skin was already much better and the redness from the extraction subsided in a few days.
I will be sharing more in my part 2 on what steps I further took to improve on my skin
