Review | The Durian Bakery | Durian Mille Crepe Cake, Cream Puffs and Durian Mochi

When you lay a set of tantalising Durian cake and desserts right before my eyes, it’s just impossible to say no! Durian is one of my favourite fruit, and the flavours are elevated further when it is transformed into various forms of interesting desserts.

If you’re also a Durian lover, get a taste of exquisite and palatable treats from The Durian Bakery as they offer a wide range of cakes and pastries made from premium ingredients and fresh durians delivered from the plantation, in Pahang, Malaysia. Their cakes are also all freshly baked without preservatives and in limited quantities till everything is sold out!

We had the Signature Mao Shan Wang Durian Mille Crepe Cake and Signature Pastries Taster Bundle

The pastries were delivered in perfect condition, in fact, the durian cake was so frozen hard that I had to thaw the cake for quite a bit before managing to cut through for photos.

Crepe cakes often look really bare and plain from the outside, but the true identity comes from within.

This decadent Durian mille crepe cake is made up of a whopping 39 layers in total – 20 layers of thin handmade crepe skin and 19 layers of thick MSW SilkyGoldâ„¢ Durian puree, which is specially blended to create an extra creamy and silky texture. The crepe itself has a very thin layer and is easy to cut through after it is fully thawed.

Not to forget, the taste was heavenly and delicious!

The highly recommended taster bundle is a must-try if you’re not sure which durian pastry to order. Since this bundle set contains 4 different items, it’s value-for-money and great for sharing among family!

Each set includes D24 Durian Choux Puff (12pcs), D24 Snowy Mochi (6pcs) and Dark Choco MSW Mousse.

The skin of this mochi is one of the softest I’ve ever tried. When I tried to pick it up with my hands, it was super wobbly and felt like the skin could break any time. The melt-in-the-mouth texture was really the star! They have it in another version which is Black Gold Musang Durian Mochi.

The Durian Cream Puffs are made with light and airy choux puff pastry filled with luscious D24 durian filling. You can tell that the fillings were really generous and looked like they were exploding from within. It’s definitely worth the money for only $21.90 (after discount) (12 pieces).

I’m generally not a fan of Chocolate + Durian combinations although I enjoy them separately. Surprisingly, this Dark Choco Musang King Mousse was quite a delightful treat! The dark chocolate blended really well with fresh musang king durian puree which has a bittersweet after taste.
