You know how something finally gets your attention when you are seeing it all the time? Yes, that happened to me and Nam Nam Noodle Bar.
When I first noticed the existence of this restaurant, I wasn’t a bit interested about the food. Not sure why, maybe it was the general feel or perhaps because I hardly look out for Asian noodles when I dine outside. I forgotten how and why, but out of nowhere, I just suddenly wanted to try this restaurant on a random day.
And I fell in love with it. I now understand why the queue is always never-ending during peak hours.
Check out the NAMNAM-TIQUETTE before you start the queue! I got a little confused with the different queues at the start too!

Eating at Nam Nam Noodle Bar gives you a Vietnamese street dining experience. Honestly the comfort level wasn’t even close to high as we had to sit on stools and there was no extra seats to place our bags. But since the food is so affordable and delicious, I guess I wouldn’t really complain about it.
Pho Beef Steak Slices
(Rice Noodles/ Instant Noodles)
$8.90
Since we are having Vietnamese Cuisine, I straightaway ordered the rice noodles for myself, while boyf got the instant noodle (which he immediately regretted after the first bite). #badchoice HAHA.
The rice noodle was silky soft and smooth. The thin beef slices were slightly undercooked to give that tender texture, similar to high quality beef. I just wasn’t too happy with the inconsistency, however. I visited Nam Nam twice, and TWICE, their beef was cooked at different levels. Sometimes they were medium rare, and at times it was almost well done. (It does affect the texture quality greatly)
Yes, have to test my luck.
Other than that, I was happy with my bowl of pho. I enjoyed the lightly sweet taste of the soup, which was not too intense for me.
Pho Pork Balls (Extra Toppings)
$2.50
I ordered an extra topping on my second visit. Nothing too fancy about the balls, I just thought it would be nice to have something else other than beef steak slices.
Viet Coffee with Condensed Milk
$2.60
It kinda resembles Kopitiam Coffee, but the creamier and smoother version.
Prawn and Sesame Rice Crackers
$3.90
You can definitely hear the loud crisp sounds the moment you bite on these prawn crackers, so satisfying! I dipped it in their chilli condiments to spice up the taste. I didn’t really enjoy the sesame crackers though.
Whenever I want to eat budget and nice food at Plaza Sing (And didn’t crave for fast food), I’ll immediately think of Nam Nam! Having cravings at such a weird hour again and I cannot wait to try it again some day. It’s definitely worth a try if you haven’t!
