ONE OF THE BEST I’VE WATCHED RECENTLY.
I would say this is a “One-man show”. Mike Banning (Gerald Butler) takes on the fight against terrorists and tries to save the hostages in the White House including the President of USA, Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart). The movie already started off with accident crashes and action, which were accompanied by more intense scenes later on when USA was under attack. Turns out that the attack was masterminded by Kang Yeonsak (Rick Yune) whose terrorist attack is motivated by revenge of his parents. With his professionally-trained military, they took control over the White House.
While all hope was dashed, Banning appeared and tried to save the day. I like how he still remain so humorous in the movie when he spoke to the Acting President – Allan Trumbull (Morgan Freeman). He really has his point “With all due respect, I am the best hope you’ve got.” This reminded me of another movie “Die Hard”. I’ve probably mentioned it before in my previous posts. I think Die Hard sequels has the best story lines about terrorist attacks because of their intense action-pack plus interesting plot. And both is similar because it’s also “One hero saving the day”.
Who would ever think that one man can win over SO MANY TERRORISTS.
Even if the show is again about nuclear war, I think it’s still very different from the typical ones. I would highly recommend this movie and I wouldn’t mind watching it again another time. Don’t expect so much twist from this movie, watch it for the adrenaline rush! Though I would say that there are some slightly unpredictable changes in the story. Good thing is that such movies always got good endings, where the bad guy always die. Didn’t think of watching this but there were no other choices, so lucky the right decision was made! Because the movie was really awesome!
