Our 5th year anniversary to Gardens by the Bay & Todai <3
Its our BIG SPECIAL day today – Our 5th year anniversary! Not kidding, 5 years already 😀 We went to Gardens by the Bay & MBS Todai to celebrate our day.
I think we were the only ones who wore “so-called exaggerated” outfits to these attractions. Everyone around us were dressed really casually in shorts & slippers! Besides, the long walk to the place really adds on to the heat & my poor boy was sweating really a lot when we arrived. But we chose the attractions which were indoor – Cloud Forest & Flower Dome. The prices were much affordable & I can easily spend half a day in it snapping photos all the way if not for worrying that my camera has not enough battery. For 1 conservatory it would be S$12.00 per person, but going for 2 is more worth it as its only S$20.00. With Safra card, passion card, etc (Any of their mentioned ones), we got ourselves 10% discount as well!
I really love to go to such places to take photos & build our memories in photos as well.
The place was generally considered COOLING, especially in Cloud Forest it was quite cold for me! Overall, I actually prefer Flower Dome. Cloud Forest seems slightly more interesting as there’s a big waterfall & there is a bird’s eye view (There’s a photo below later!) However, in terms of snapping photos, I think Flower Dome has more. Maybe the heavy rain later kind of spoiled our mood too. & The place was quite wet as well. Flower Dome is a good place for flower lovers, the place is filled with different types of flowers as quoted by my boy. Its a Botanic Gardens with air-con. I don’t agree though! Its a lot better! Hehe.
Some sneak peek over here! The rest will be uploaded in my FB album 😀
This was a Panorama shot taken with my camera!
& The bird’s eye view I mentioned.
We cabbed back to MBS due to the heavy rain, they should really build a tunnel/shelter that links both ways completely. The shelter only leads us to the taxi stand. A shuttle bus would be good as well.
Headed to Todai buffet restaurant for our dinner at 5.30pm. Its better to go earlier, there will be no one ‘fighting’ the crabs with you. After about 8, that section is always empty & I would have to check every 10-15 minutes or so to get the bigger pieces. We actually ate from 530 all the way till 9!! I must say that the food & cleanliness there improved a lot. Satisfied meal indeed ^^ The price for weekends buffet is S$58++ which is about S$68.00. I think its pretty worth it! Kuishin Bo is a considerable alternative if you only want the seafood. It’s mainly on Japanese food.
Snow crab section. I like those with pincers as it has more meat & easier to cut open too!
The Sashimi is normal to me, there’s only 2 types – Salmon & Tuna. Quite boring.
Mussels, scallops, clams & oysters. I love the mussels its super juicy & the feeling of biting it is so great. Scallops are really good as well! I don’t remember seeing much variety the previous time I came here.
Roast meat section which I didn’t really try except for the beef. Not really good.. The rest look so filling that I didn’t bother to try.
Some other cooked food. Nothing fantastic. I always go for the seafood that’s the most expensive & delicious section!
Sushi bar
I was salivating & aiming for these lovely macaroons the moment I stepped into the restaurant. They always change their flavours, the last time was Chocolate. This round is Green Tea & Strawberry. I thinkkk its green tea.. Anyway I prefer the green one more than the strawberry 😀 I ate 2 of each flavour, that means FOUR!
Dessert corner where all the chocolatey & sweet cakes are!
I aimed for every seafood at the start & even took 2 maracoons in case they don’t have stock at the end. This happened to me before where they left only 1 flavour.. We both took about more than 5 plates of crab too! I lost count of how many legs I ate. Greedy me!
I think I took about 3 plates of this & I finished most of them! I feel so hungry as I’m typing this.
& This beef rib is A MUST TRY!!!! The beef is so tender & soft, so juicy too. I ate like about 6-7 pieces all by myself. Its highly recommended especially for beef lovers ^_^
My boy came all the way to MBS to eat bread with strawberry jam & ice milo. *Tsk tsk*
& Lastly, I took almost all the different flavours of cake & FINISHED THEM ALL! My boy was quite full already so he didn’t had any except for the chocolate waffles. He was quite shocked that I can eat so much dessert. I think girls have the ability to do so hehe.
I really had a super full & tasty buffet meal, thanks to my boy! It was an awesome time!
& Now, introducing the gifts that we prepared for each other ^_^
I got a baby Eeyore keychain which I really love a lot before my boy even gave it to me! Plus he got me Japanese frozen flowers that won’t die so quickly like bouquet flowers. (I cannot keep dead bouquets at home) This type of frozen flowers do not require watering & can last up to 10 years! Besides, it will bloom during cold & dry weather, while close during hot & dry weather.
Thanks love!
I gave my boy a Piggy wool felt keychain which is DIY. It’s a kit with fluffy wool felt inside which I have to roll it up & poke a needle to harden the wool. I’m actually very amazed how it actually happens. You can find it on Youtube! I also made a Ferrero Rocher Bouquet (Handmade too!) as I know that he’s a chocolate lover! I know only guys give girls such gifts. But that’s just a stereotype!! 😀 Anyway I just made it with satay sticks, cling wrap, coloured tissue paper & ribbon. Quite simple actually.
Hope you love those gifts! ^^
