LUMOS FLOAT Home Cinema Projector Review

Staying over at my partner’s place is always cozy, but sometimes, you just want to cuddle up in bed and watch your favourite shows. We tried using a laptop and even a computer desktop, but let’s be real, squinting at a small screen and sitting in an uncomfortable chair just wasn’t the vibe. Watching movies in the living room isn’t the best in terms of privacy too.

When I got my hands on the LUMOS FLOAT Home Cinema Projector, it was a complete game-changer to our date night.

From $199, it’s an absolute steal. Not only did it elevate the bedroom setup, but it also turned our movie nights into a full-on cinematic experience without having to leave the comfort of our bed.

The complete game-changer

The LUMOS FLOAT is the first-ever 360° rotatable projector with a hangable function, meaning we can project our favourite movies and shows directly onto the wall or even the ceiling. Imagine lying down and watching Netflix without even lifting your head. I might just watch shows till I doze off in such a comfortable position.

It’s also ultra-compact and portable, so we can move it from room to room or even bring it over to a friend’s place for a movie night. With its built-in Netflix, YouTube, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Android OS, all we had to do was turn it on.

Effortless Setup

One of the standout features is its SkyTrack hangable function. Unlike traditional projectors that require drilling and complicated mounts, the LUMOS FLOAT can be hung on the wall or ceiling using just 2-3 picture hanging strips, which also means that it doesn’t have to stay permanently at ONE spot.

Currently, I am placing it on the shelf as the height and placement work for us. But there are really so many possibilities.

Good Quality at Affordable Price

It boasts 1080p support resolution (native 720p), making it 225% clearer than standard projectors. At 3000 lumens, the brightness levels ensure that colours are vibrant and crisp, even in dim lighting.

Most projectors come with a single weak speaker, but the dual speaker system on the FLOAT creates a cinematic surround sound experience. While it may not be comparable to expensive bluetooth speakers, the quality is certainly pretty decent for an overall movie experience.

Beyond Movies: Gaming & Phone Casting

We don’t just use it for movies, it’s also perfect for gaming. Whether we’re playing on the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch, having a 100-inch screen makes a world of difference, especially for multiplayer games. No more squinting my eyes on small screens!

Final Thoughts

From $199, the LUMOS FLOAT is hands down one of the best additions to our bedroom. It makes movie nights and gaming sessions so much more enjoyable. If you love the idea of a cinema-at-home experience without breaking the bank, this projector is an absolute must-have.
