If you’re looking for a cafe with nice ambience to do your work around town area, Degree Celcius Cafe which is located at the ground level of UBS Building is worth a visit. This minimalistic white coffee bar has a corner that is meant to let customers work or study, with sufficient sockets available at every table to charge your laptop. I would appreciate if the table heights were a little higher, but otherwise this area is quite cosy to chill and enjoy some cakes and coffee.

I didn’t have the chance to try their coffee selection, instead I went for their Matcha Strawberry Latte ($6) which looks really promising from their IG. Personally, I like matcha and strawberry flavours separately so having them combined into one is like the best of both worlds.
The strawberry puree bits are handmade with real strawberries, and it added an extra sweetness and crunch to the bittersweet matcha flavour. The strawberry taste may come off as a little overwhelming so if you prefer pure matcha taste, this drink might not be for you. But for people with sweet taste buds like me, I am in love with this.
There is a good range of pastries like cheese croissant, smoked salmon sourdough toast, assorted tarts and cakes. We had the Guava Lychee cake ($8) which is quite an exotic combination. The guava infused sponge with guava infused cream and lychee bits is suited for those with a light palate. The cake sponge is slightly dense but it was overall quite delicious, just not my kind of cake flavour.
I really appreciate that Degree Celcius is quite welcoming towards patrons who need to use their laptop to do work since not many cafes openly allow that these days. But of course, do be considerate and do not hog the seats for too long if there is a crowd.
