I usually visit Dog Cafes with the main purpose of hanging out with dogs, and not having high expectations for the food. But Menage Cafe caught me by surprise! I was already looking forward to the pastas after looking at the reviews online, but never did I expect the food to be that delicious.
Alicia and I brought Bubbles and Mimi since I had the car that day, which obviously makes things a lot easier for us. I was also very pleased that there were plenty of vertical parking space just outside the cafe as compared to Sunray cafe (Almost got a parking fine because of the limited space).
It was a weekday afternoon hence the cafe was pretty much empty, but we were aiming to enjoy the food while having a good time with the dogs rather than interacting with other pups, so it didn’t really matter. The first tables from the main entrance were really cute compared to those inside, so we just sat down. But there was actually a door fence segregating both areas.. So we were wondering, are these seats actually for humans only?
We ordered 2 iced vanilla lattes ($6), a carbonara ($14.90) and salmon ($18.90). I also realised that this cafe was part of the Entertainer app which has 1 for 1 promotion and we didn’t use the vouchers. (Lesson learnt: Check for promotions before dining at any places)
Paying the full price was still worth it. It was definitely one of the BETTER carbonara I have tasted. Probably also one of the cheapest for the same standard! One of the most important contribution to a delicious carbonara is the texture of the sauce. This was really thick and creamy enough to fill a happy tummy, yet it wasn’t drying towards the end of my meal. For $14.90 I would gladly return just to enjoy it again even without dogs.
Alicia had great compliments about her dish as well. I think we made the right choice! It was quite a peaceful quiet lunch away from the city area, but I’m not too sure if you visit on weekends or weekdays peak hours though.
Look who’s tiny enough to fit in a bag? Alicia said that she has already grown too fast, at least I got to meet Mimi when she’s still a little baby!
Menage Cafe Menu:
Menage Cafe is one of my favourite dog cafes so far, mainly because the food is great and the cafe is spacious for your pups to roam around. However, if you’re looking for a place to have activities with your pup kid, perhaps you can try out 3 Barks Cafe (They even have a mini slide!) Sunray Cafe is another cafe with food standards that keep you coming back for more, but it might be a little overcrowded at times, and good luck trying to find yourself a parking space!
