#GLOWithus Floral Lipstick Workshop with Mikayla Ng

Look at these gorgeous floral lipsticks that Serene & I made! Those who know me would be able to guess which is mine! #PinkLover. I’ve actually seen this going viral on Facebook some time ago, and never thought that I could actually have an opportunity to make one myself. If you’re wondering where I created this beautiful lip balm, I actually attended the #GLOWithus workshop invited by my good friend Mikayla Ng. Nowadays financial consultants are getting really creative! And where can you find such unique workshops nowadays!

The workshop was rather exclusive and kept as a small event, so we didn’t have to worry about mingling around. When we arrived, we had to pick out our own preferred empty lipstick case. Wow there were so many to choose from! I was only aiming for the pink ones, as usual.

The setup was pretty simple – lipstick case, gold foil, wax, toothpick, cotton bud and the lipstick mould. We were told that the wax is made with natural ingredients and also contains high olive oil content, making it suitable for young children.

Before we started on our little project, we picked our preferred flower and essential oil scent. We had to break the gold foil into tiny pieces onto the solid wax and put one drop of essential oil in.

After heating the wax to dissolve everything, we have to drop 6-18 drops of pink henna extract into the mixture. This makes the lip balm transparent in colour, but able to produce pink tones when you apply on your lips. How cool is that!

I had to immediately pour the mixture into the lipstick mould, and insert the flower in before the wax dries up. Just look at the disaster below, I wasted some gold foil too!

Here comes the anxious part of removing the mould to reveal our unique creation! What we require are steady hands, patience and a little hope! The trainer also helped us smoothen the rough lines if it did not come out looking perfect.

Here’s the final masterpiece of my floral lipbalm! I’m glad that the gold foil turned out quite evenly even though I’ve wasted a few small pieces. I can’t bear to use this! It’ll probably just sit on my dressing table and I’ll open it to take a sniff once in a while.

Thanks Mikayla for the exclusive invite! DIY stuff has always been my kinda thing, so this workshop was really fun!

For anyone who is looking to get yourself some insurance protection plans, do consider looking for Mikayla as she is really very dedicated and helpful to her clients. Even though I have not purchased anything from her, she’s always very willing to guide me along when I have questions about different policies! Best of all, she doesn’t hard sell or pressure!

All the best to you babe <3 #MikTheRightChoice !

& one important thing, I’m definitely not sponsored to say this hahahahaha.
