Movie Review: Now You See Me (2013)

Now you see me, now you don’t.

This is an incredibly smart and interesting movie.

When I saw the trailer before this, I was already telling myself, I AM SO GOING TO WATCH THIS! And I didn’t regret a single bit. Throughout the whole movie, you just didn’t know what was coming. Everything was a twist. And at the end of the movie, I think most of the audience felt the bizarre feeling and made me pondered about the movie.

You’ve seen robbers and murderers on movie screens. But have you watched magicians robbing a bank???

Now You See Me revolves around the exploits of The Four Horsemen – a group of Las Vegas magicians renowned for their hi-tech shows and mind-boggling stunts – brought to life by Daniel Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg), Henley Reeves (Isla Fisher), Jack Wilder (Dave Franco) and Merritt McKinney (Woody Harrelson). However, these gifted con artists scale new heights when they pull off a stunt that involves exposing a white-collar criminal, ‘magically’ funneling his illicit millions of dollars from his Paris vault and showering their audience with the cash results. But will the Horsemen’s ‘final trick’ be even more impressive (not to mention, lucrative)?

I wonder how did he even escape from the handcuffs and transferred it over to the FBI agent within split seconds.

I love watching people do magic tricks. And the tricks they performed at the start was already fascinating enough. But as the movie goes on, the tricks become more and more complicated, such that you can’t believe it can actually happen. Well, every magic tricks come with a logical reasoning behind it. I think it’s a fantastic show because of the unique story line and genre that we don’t usually get to watch for other action/ thriller movies. There’re too many twists and turn in the movie so I’m not giving any spoilers.

This movie “Now you see me” just brought magic tricks to a whole new level.

Who says that magic is only for entertainment huh?
