After moving into our new place, we had our very first housewarming session! We didn’t really want to host a huge housewarming session and invite different groups of people at one go, it wouldn’t make sense as there won’t be enough space and we don’t want to neglect any friends! Anyway, we extended this housewarming session to my family/ relatives and close friends from Secondary school.
On & On Diners was our food caterer during the gathering that day. We had the National Day Mini Buffet, which is a 10 course meal for 15 pax. I’m quite glad that they are halal-certified as I had invited Muslim friends over.
We tidied the last bit of messiness in our house that morning before the food arrived. For this National Day Mini Buffet set, setup was not provided and the food were provided in disposable trays. One of the downside is that the food gets cold quickly, but it is really fuss-free for mini gatherings like this. The trays also proved to be very useful later on (when we started to dabao the food).
I love how they actually customised the menu with our website name on it too!
The food was delicious and some of my favourite dishes include the otah and mango pomelo dessert! I think I had 3 bowls of it! We had many leftovers. Disclaimer: It wasn’t because the food wasn’t well-received, but they were seriously too generous with the portions. The extras became my dinner and lunch for the following day. I think I enjoyed it better than my usual meals 😉

While the parents were busy watching TV, we spent some time for a feeding session with Muffin & Cookie. Benefits of having pets at home! Luckily I’ve prepared some veggies beforehand. They are getting so greedy recently! Non stop wheeking for food and treats!
Muffin with one of his favourite treat – baby carrot!
I think having a Nintendo Switch at home really makes gatherings a lot more fun too! Shiu Heng surprised me with new controllers too! He’s always so good at surprises (and lies, to make the surprise work). I can’t wait to get new multiplayer games so that the switch can be more useful when there are guests coming over!
Can’t wait for the next few housewarming sessions!
