I have to admit… I’m not really a health junkie, but I really cannot say no to acai bowls and smoothies, because I absolutely love the taste! My lovely friend Jessica just opened her new cafe – Soul Smoothie Bar at Robinson Road, and what better opportunity than to head over for a great catch up while enjoying my favourite food & drinks!
Conveniently located in the heart of Telok Ayer amidst the bustling crowd in CBD, you can enjoy a delectable range of guilt-free smoothies, smoothie bowls and toasts! Their strong emphasis on using natural and fresh ingredients sets them apart from certain mass produced smoothie shops, where sorbet and sugar substitutes are used in drinks for extra flavours.
While the seating area is not very spacious to accommodate large groups, it is indeed a nice and quiet place to chill.
The menu is pretty extensive – I took a good 10-15 minutes deciding on what to order because everything sounded so delicious. However, they don’t serve mains here, so if you’re a big eater, I suggest you go elsewhere for lunch then come here for dessert or a cuppa smoothie to detox!
Have you seen their Smoothie bowls yet? For just $9.90, you get to enjoy a huge bowl of goodness generously topped with granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, chia seeds, coconut flakes, cacao nibs and almond butter. (Just check out their generous amount of almond butter!)
We got the Pina Colada Bowl for a tropical and refreshing taste. For something sweeter, you can go for Chunky Monkey Bowl or PB&J Bowl. I personally prefer to stick to the fruity bowls as they are very refreshing.
Their smoothie bowls are quite different from the usual Acai bowls with solid frozen texture, it’s a lot softer and resembles more like a thick milkshake texture. I don’t usually have smoothie bowls like these, but I know that I’ve been craving for this since then!
To fill up your tummy a little more, enjoy their Peanut Butter Cinnamon Toast ($6.9) or Almond Butter Blueberry Toast ($6.9). I ordered the Avocado Smoked Salmon Toast ($8.9) as I wanted something savoury to balance out the sweetness from the smoothie bowl.
I think I had a really good detox meal with both the smoothie and smoothie bowl! The prices are quite reasonable despite being situated around the CBD vicinity. If I were to work nearby, I would definitely be so tempted to grab a bowl of smoothie once every few days!
