If you’ve read my travelogue posts, you’ll probably know that I love traveling to Japan, and a huge reason is due to the variety of Japanese food & drinks! Slight favouritism over here, but I honestly hardly get sick of this cuisine.
Foodieland which is a local F&B distributor in Singapore, has been known for importing biscuits and fortune cookies from Garden, a renowned brand in Hong Kong. Lately, they have also been offering a Premium selection of Japanese beverages imported from Japan, including Soda Ciders by Kimura and 100% Pure Apple Juice by JA Aoren.
Sweet beverages are also my constant dose of energy but bubble tea and caffeine are not exactly the healthiest. The unforgiving weather in Singapore also makes me crave for a refreshing drink from time to time!
Kimura Japanese Fruit Soda Cider
To be honest, I hardly take fizzy drinks recently, perhaps just an occasional few sips from fast food meals. You know that feeling where you start to get bloated with all the gas after a few mouthfuls? Let just say.. I couldn’t get enough with just one bottle of the Japanese fruit soda cider. The fruity and fizzy combination makes it a perfect refreshing thirst-quencher especially during hot days.
In case you are wondering, these are NON-alcoholic carbonated drinks, which is perfect for me! The flavours include: Yamanashi Red Grape, Shinshu White Grape, Shinshu Apple, Peach and Mount Fuji Yuzu.
Let’s not forget how pretty their packaging looks, which pretty much seems like it’s taken off a shelf from a store in Japan.

Check out that boomerang fizz!
Good to know for those who are health-conscious, these are not overloaded with sugar, and has a more natural and fruity flavour. Each cider is also packed with 10% real fruit juices, with results in a less artificial flavouring as compared to other fizzy drinks in the market.
My favourite flavours are White Grape and Peach! Personally, I found that Apple soda cider reminds me of a real Apple cider, not in terms of the alcoholic taste but more of the taste resemblance!
100% Pure Apple Juice by JA Aoren
Without the use of additives and sugar, the JA Aoren Kibou no Shizuku Drop Of Hope Apple Juice is made from 100% pure apple juice blend from Aomori, Japan. Free of artificial flavouring, the juice has a naturally sweet fragrance and taste. The apple taste is quite prominent and my family loves it! You can choose from Red Apple (sweet) or Yellow Apple (tangy).
With the premium quality, each bottle costs $3.2 each and they are not exactly very cheap, but definitely better than the store bought ones in supermarkets! As the saying goes, 一分钱一分货!”
Can soups are already known to be one of the best ready-to-eat foods, but this really steals the show with its ultimate convenience, where you don’t even require can openers or super strength to pull open the tab of the can. This is probably pretty embarrassing, but I’ve tried pulling a can tab before and it broke (I almost gave up).
There are 3 different ways to drink this: room temperature, pour into a bowl and microwave or place the whole can in a hot bowl of water to warm it up.
You can choose from the 4 different flavours: Corn Potage, Pumpkin Potage, Tomato, and Potato & Leek.
I was really surprised that you don’t even need to pop it in the microwave, but I personally prefer hot soup and hence would take just a tiny little more effort to heat it up. I think it’s super convenient especially when I am craving for something hot in the middle of the night. The taste of the soup is pretty good too! It’s not comparable to freshly cooked soup of course, but definitely one of the better ones!

Tarami Pure Series Assorted Fruit Jelly Cups
Jelly cups are very refreshing for an after-meal snack, and these Tarami pure series assorted fruit jelly cups are just 10x better with premium seasonal fruits added. The jelly cups are available in 4 different flavours – Mikan orange, Loquat, Momo peach and Muscat grape. I am quite surprised but I actually enjoyed eating the Mikan orange ALOT. It was really juicy and sweet.
Those who usually shy away from really sweet desserts will find that Foodieland Japanese series have a natural sweetness and flavour. Personally, I think the jelly size is good to share between 2 pax, or you can just open it up and store the remaining excess in a tupperware for the next time!
Prices: $5 each
Bundle of 4: $18
Tarami Oishii Konjac Series Assorted Fruit Jellies (6 Packs)
Having these fruit jellies gave me some nostalgia, as I used to buy fruit jellies during my childhood. But this is an upgraded version from the artificial jellies that I had in the past! As they are more affordable than the jelly cups, these are great for serving during parties or even goodie bags for children’s birthdays.
Prices: $2.6 each
Bundle of 6: $13.80
If you are interested to try out more of their other fruity soft drinks, you can consider Kirin Koiwai Junsui Budo Pure Water Grape/ Water Orange or Suntory Gokuri Grapefruit Pink and White Drink. I was expecting the grapefruit to have a slight bittersweet aftertaste like how the real fruits taste sometimes, but it was surprisingly sweet with a slight tangy flavour.
The Suntory Marude Umeshu Non-Alcoholic Plum Wine has quite a lot of health benefits too – including relieving constipation, preventing diarrhea, stimulating appetites and improving overall blood circulation.
