The one and only thing that attracted me to watch Hotel Transylvania 2 is this cute little boy, Dennis in the poster! Seriously, this cute character makes me go awwww in the movie. I haven’t watched the first movie yet, but I thought that it wouldn’t really affect my understanding of the story plot anyway.
The movie started off with Mavis getting married with her human boyfriend, Johnny. And after a year, they have a son called Dennis. Nearing his 5th birthday, his granddad Dracula was worried that Dennis will not become a vampire if his fangs have not grown out by then. On the other hand, Mavis wanted to raise Dennis as a normal human kid and there were conflicting views between both parties.
The limelight is definitely on Dennis as he looks really innocently cute. There’s a few scenes where Dracula tried to give him a crash course on how to become a vampire. Including throwing him off a tall tower. And it was rather funny to see how Dracula is constantly frustrated over his son’s innocent and cute temperament, and does not resemble a monster at all.
Ooohh and I really like the scene where Dennis said bla bla bla bla.
I wouldn’t mind rewatching the movie because of this adorable character.
Hotel Transylvania 2 is a heart-warming sequel with consistently amusing moments and irresistibly cute scenes of Dennis. Some of the humor were cleverly done without going overboard. Although the story plot is ordinary and expected with no exciting twists, it’s definitely a fun-filled comedy to enjoy. It probably has a better story plot than Minions, though I still prefer the latter. Just don’t expect much from the movie unless you enjoy watching CUTE THINGS.
