This is such an overdue post! I’ve actually watched Man of Steel when the movie just released. But I conveniently forgotten about it so here I am now, blogging about the review!
Here’s a short sypnosis
“In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent, Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.”
It was overall a great movie to watch, with exhilarating fighting and smashing scenes. I love how Clark Kent/Kal-El (Superman) and Zod, the Kryptonian villain smashed through a couple of buildings across the streets and how they managed to shoot up into space within mere seconds. I think that is the coolest part of the movie. The action scenes are no doubt perfect and exciting.
I like this sentence he said to the army,“Just because you can’t control me doesn’t mean I’m your enemy.” He even let them handcuffed him to make them feel safer and more secured. It’s quite funny to see the people’s reaction when he break off from the handcuff like a piece of cake.
Something I dislike a little about the movie is that the movie is a little to draggy at the start. I understand that the story has to be built up right from the beginning to explain about Clark Kent/Kal-El’s origin and history. But with such a long story, my mind somehow drifted away. Another downside is that Zod seemed to vulnerable and easy to get killed by Superman at the end. The Kryptonians looked so invincible at the start such that I feel it was too abrupt.
Oh and thank god, Superman didn’t have his red underwear on! That’s one major thing that I didn’t like about Superman before.
