My life has been pretty much repetitive lately. Baking – working from home – blogging, and occasionally spending lots of time shopping for dog stuff or doing research. In my previous post, I have mentioned that my puppy will be arriving in late November soon! I shall call the puppy K for now, and will reveal the name when it’s here! People who have followed my IG may have already seen the name.
As a new first-time dog owner, I get really paranoid and anxious of the preparations (almost like being a first-time mum). And let’s not go on how I have been eyeing for all the different toys when the pup has not even arrived yet!
Just wanted to share a few things that I have bought or is considering to get soon!
Puppy Playpen/ Cage (Taobao)

I have been looking around for a few different playpen options, this was one of the harder decisions to make because K would be spending time alone in the playpen when we’re not home. And because it’s such a huge item in my living room, I want to make sure that it looks aesthetically pleasant among other furniture too. Initially, I wanted to use C&C but it looks flimsy and there are chances of the dog climbing out. The other playpen that I found on Taobao had bad reviews that the dog managed to break apart after some time. Finally, I’ve decided on this which looks amazing (almost like a garden fence design) made of PVC material.
Unfortunately, some of the parts were damaged during shipping, and I’m currently waiting for them to resend the items.
Toys

I bought my toys from Petmaster (Bedok) and @Pawpalssg (IG). Petmaster has a retail store at Bedok and they were having some promotion – free goodie bag for $150 minimum spending. Their toy selection is not extensive in my opinion, but they do have a range of other pet accessories/supplies/food which is convenient if you are looking for something else.
On the other hand, I highly recommend @Pawpalssg which I’ve chanced upon on Instagram. The amount of toys they have is INSANE. Although some of the products may have been sold out, they constantly have new updates, and even a surprise box which costs only $29.90.

I’ve done some research and people around me also advised against using Kibbles as the puppy may develop allergies issues in the long run, and there are not enough nutrients. My friend has recommended Primal Freeze Dried (Dehydrated raw food), which has several good reviews at an affordable price range. I am also considering to order raw meat from goodwoofsg or other similar places.
For treats, I have a couple of different brands that was from the Petmaster goodie bag. But I am also considering to get the Cornell dehydrator to make my own dog treats!

For the rest of the accessories and supplies, I chose to buy from Ezbuy or Taobao as the prices are really affordable. So far, the items that I have received are really decent in terms of the structure and materials!
Snuggle Puppy
I am considering to get this which is so highly raved in the US/UK! It comes with a whopping price of about $60 SGD, which is pretty crazy for a toy. But here’s the special part, the snuggle puppy comes with a heartbeat device that is said to calm your puppy especially during its sleep! I posted a question about it on the FB groups and the response was pretty crazy.
There are still a couple of things that I’m still short of – bath supplies, toothbrush, supplements, etc.
Hopefully I can get them settled soon! Counting down: 1 month 1 week!
