Meeting Kuro For The First Time @ FFL.sg (Friends Fur Life)

After 3 months of anticipation, endless shopping and detailed preparation, I have finally met my dog Kuro (Sable Cavapoo) for the very first time. I was quite sad that the flight was previously delayed, but the time has finally come! I was so excited that I even dreamt about the experience the night before.

So far I only have 3 pics of the puppies – newborn, 1 month and 2 months. I couldn’t really have a good look with the pup that I have reserved, so I was really curious how much he has changed. As I was the first to reserve a male sable pup, I was given the priority to have the first pick (yay)!

When we arrived, I only took a glance but I was immediately drawn to Kuro (which is the smallest and darker sable pup). He had this blur silly adorable eyes and I was in love. R on the other hand, prefers the other sable male though. Even though Kuro didn’t really come to me, I was told that it’s not really a concern as the pup will eventually get used to it and follow me everywhere very soon. They could be just overwhelmed and very distracted by so many different people in the shop.

Kuro didn’t really let me hug him for long, but I was still so biased and attracted to him. We were given some time to discuss before finalising – R compromised and let me have the final decision in the end as I was the main caregiver. (Thank you love!)

It has been 4 days since the day he just arrived in Singapore, and I was so determined to let him familiarise with me before the day we bring him home. My effort is recognised as he really became more approachable on day 2 and 3. On day 3, he came over and licked me, lied down to let me give him belly rubs, and he played fetch with the toy I brought over. (I intentionally left a toy at the shop so that he can have something familiar when we bring him back home)

Today, we finally went to pick him up from FFL! We had to go through the changing of license and some signing of documents. There was a short basic briefing for the caring of our pup, if we still have any concerns/ questions, we can always enquire through the WhatsApp Lifetime Support Chat. They’re so dedicated in helping pet owners throughout the whole journey (not just a buy & sell deal).

The moment we left the place and put Kuro in a car seat, he started whimpering and whining non-stop, and tried to climb out of it. Had no choice but to carry him in arms like a baby and he fell asleep for the 15 minutes ride. We actually went for a quick vet checkup to ensure everything is alright before heading home!

When he was home, we placed him in the playpen for 10 minutes and he was whining non-stop again! After settling down, he became much better and interactive. He seems to adapt pretty well as long as we’re around his vision. Can’t say so sure for tonight though…

Muffin & Cookie seemed to take it quite well with his existence too!
